Head of Chinese Department - Commercial and Migration

Wangzhang Chew (known to all as “JC”) is a Partner in the firm’s Migration and Commercial/Investment division. JC is also a Registered Migration Agent.

He graduated from Bond University with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Business (International Business) in 2016. He completed a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the College of Law and was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory in December 2016.

JC grew up in Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia and he speaks five languages fluently – Malay, English, Mandarin, Taiwanese and Cantonese.

He gained international experience working with a Shanghai law firm and studying at the Copenhagen Business School.

JC looks after Chinese and other Asian clients. He assists high-calibre Chinese business people with migration to Australia. JC also works hand-in-hand with Rob Ffrench, Partner of the firm’s Commercial and Property Department, in advising foreign investors and entities on buying and selling businesses and legal due diligence.

He deals with investors from different sectors such as education, manufacturing, property development and health science. JC’s strong connections with Chinese investors, law firms and agencies help local businesses to generate greater resources, especially if there is a need to expand into the Chinese market.
