Wangzhang Chew

Head of Chinese Department - Commercial and Migration

Wangzhang Chew ( known to all as “JC”) is an Associate in the firm’s Commercial and Migration division. JC is also a registered migration agent.

He graduated from Bond University with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Business (International Business) in 2016. He completed a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the College of Law and was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory in December 2016.

He grew up in Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia and speaks five languages fluently: Malay, English, Mandarin, Taiwanese and Cantonese.

He gained international experience working with a Shanghai law firm and the Copenhagen Business School.

JC looks after Chinese clients from Southeast Asian countries. He works hand-in-hand with Rob Ffrench, Partner of Commercial & Property Department, by advising foreign investors or entities on buying and selling businesses and legal due diligence. Further, he works very closely with our in house Migration manager/lawyer, Esef Mirascija, by assisting foreign investors, students, and skilled migrants on legal criteria. He assists high calibre Chinese business people with migration to Australia.

He deals with investors from different sectors, such as education, manufacturing, property development and health science. His strong connections with Chinese investors, law firms and agencies help local businesses to generate greater resources, especially if there is a need to expand into Chinese market.
